Started doing color warm-ups here and there to give myself a playground to have fun in before my days get started. This is a collection of some of my favorites. It's all my color but each one I make sure to credit to the appropriate line artist. Enjoy!

Dick Grayson as Batman

Can't believe it's been two years since I drew this but I'm still pretty happy with it. Considering the hours I've been putting in since January I needed just one to do something for myself so I finally colored it. It's what I envisioned Dick Grayson would look like as Batman back when he was taking over the cowl. Superficially he's still scary but the details really contrast the darkness Bruce Wayne embodied. Also tried some different methods of making selections for soft cuts without using the lasso to speed things up. Thought it turned out pretty well.

Peter Krause's Batman

About a month ago Peter Krause tweeted this sketch and I just had to color it. Finally found the time late last night to play with it and here are the results. Hope everyone, especially Peter, enjoys it!

Helloooo, Nur... BANG!

Christopher Nolan did my namesake proud when he and Heath Ledger reworked Joker in Dark Knight. The character is disturbing but extraordinarily compelling and really makes the comic version look half-assed. Finished coloring this while my new iPod Touch that my lady gave me for Christmas (yay!) synced up. This is also the fourth spot illu that I'm using a new coloring technique with and I'm loving it. More layer organization than application really. Makes a difference to me and is much easier and more forgiving.
