"Planet of the Apes" #16 covers

I was honored to get to color covers for issues 1, 5-16 of this series. It was so much fun to get to continue on with this "Planet of the Apes"series even once I had to drop off interiors due to the birth of my son. I hope everyone enjoyed my covers as much as the story. It's a great read so if you've not picked it up I highly recommend you do!

"Planet of the Apes" Annual #1

When POTA editor, Dafna Pleban, contacted me about coloring a short story for the annual I jumped on it. She even gave me a choice of stories and I picked Jeff Parker and Ben Dewey's. Ben's line just sang to me immediately and knew that was the one for me. I thoroughly enjoyed coloring it and Jeff's story is so much fun I honestly would love to see more done with the same characters. The annual came out this week with three other short stories so go pick your copy up now!

"Planet of the Apes" #15 cover

When my son was born I had to quit coloring the interiors for "Planet of the Apes" but was really lucky editor Dafna Pleban was so awesome and kept me on to do covers. These have been an absolute joy to work on and this was no exception. It also was another chance to color Damian Couceiro which is always a pleasure. #15 is out this week so go pick up a copy!

"Planet of the Apes" #12 covers

Originally I had colored three covers but it seems they scrapped the third. The cover A, by Carlos Magno, might be my favorite cover for POTA ever! Love it! The first version was cold since almost all of the covers have been hot hot hot and I wanted to try something different. I was asked to change it so I just swapped some masks around in my files and came up with the final version. Either way, I really love it and hope you do too.

"Planet of the Apes" #10 covers

I've been neglectful of posting up covers I've colored. Here are two for "Planet of the Apes" #10. The second one was the C cover so went sans title graphic which is why you don't see the final printed version immediately below.

"Planet of the Apes" #9 cover

While I'm no longer coloring the interiors for "Planet of the Apes" I'm still doing a cover here and there. This is for #9 cover C. As far as I've seen this cover comes without any graphics just as you see here.

"Planet of the Apes" #8

"Planet of the Apes" #8 is out this week. This post is bittersweet because it's also my last issue of POTA I'll be coloring. It's been a great book to work on and I learned so much working on Carlos' line art. Originally I was brought onto the title by the amazing Ian Brill who sought a replacement after the colorist on issue one quit. In time I also got to work with Dafna Pleban who has been a joy and am happy to say is still giving me covers to color for POTA! I've been very lucky to work with these amazing people on this title and I hope everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it. #8 is the end of volume two and the war is about to begin. Pick yourself up a copy this week!

"Planet of the Apes" #7 cover B

Believe it or not but I am STILL not caught up on all my posts!

I colored all three covers for issue 7 of "Planet of the Apes". Cover A can be viewed here. Not sure I'll be posting C up or not. This cover is where I finally figured out a good tool preset for some new crunchy brushes that are really cool. This issue is out now so go get one!

"Planet of the Apes" #7

Continuing to update my backlog of news today with "Planet of the Apes" #7. The board is almost set for the players to make their first moves in the one thing apes and humans will always have in common: war.

"Planet of the Apes" #7 cover A

I've colored three covers for issue 7 of "Planet of the Apes" and just received my comps for it today. It looks amazing! Best issue yet! I'm getting more comfortable doing more with less and it's paying off. Can't wait to show interiors in the next couple of weeks.

"Planet of the Apes" #6 covers

First, I'M A DAD! Second, that's all the personal stuff you'll see posted on my blog but if you're a friend check out my Facebook account for loads of digital-daddy-wallet-photo-sharing. However, for obvious reasons I had to take a month off from coloring the interiors of POTA so issue six you'll only find my color on the covers. I'll be back coloring issue seven. Until then, don't miss a beat and pick up issue six this week! Roll over the larger versions for the original line art.
